The panelists will be answering your questions about their development process, balancing a multi-hyphenate life, and how they’re staying creative (or not!) during this hot labor summer.

MEET OUR PANELISTS
Ashley Nicole Black is an Emmy award-winning writer, comedian, and actor. She has written and acted on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, A Black Lady Sketch, and the upcoming Bad Monkey on Apple TV+. Ashley is currently under an overall deal at Warner Bros TV, where she has written and produced on Ted Lasso and Shrinking.
Joanna Hausmann is a Venezuelan-American comedian, writer, and actor who gained popularity through her videos on YouTube and as head-writer of Univision’s digital platform “Flama.” Her viral creations have garnered over 100 million views and aim to bridge bi-cultural gaps and challenge Latinx stereotypes through humor. She is the head-writer and co-producer of the Disney Animated series “Hamster and Gretel” and has worked on shows for TruTV, CBS, HBOMax, Paramount+, and Netflix. Joanna has a podcast called “Hyphenated ” where she and her co-host Jenny Lorenzo talk about their experiences as – you guessed it – multi-hyphenates.
Nadiya Chettiar started out as a stage actor and had the rare opportunity of touring as far away as Iran before discovering that her true passion lay off the stage and behind the camera. She began her writing career in her native Canada, working for hit comedies such as Netflix’s KIM’S CONVENIENCE and WORKIN’ MOMS. Since relocating to LA, Nadiya has worked on LIFE IN PIECES (CBS), HOUSEBROKEN (FOX), and MOM (CBS). She’s currently a writer/producer on YOUNG SHELDON (CBS).
Originally from New York, chandra thomas is a writer-actor-producer. She was most recently a writer on the single-cam comedy, TACOMA FD. Previously, chandra’s written on the Emmy Award-winning, multi-cam comedy, MOM, and an adult-animated comedy series for Amazon. She recently wrapped a TV development deal with Paramount Studios. As an actor, chandra’s worked in television and film, including LAW & ORDER: SVU, TACOMA FD, and LABOR DAY. She’s the founder of Greater Film Festival, where they amplify stories for the greater good. chandra’s the proud daughter of immigrants, has gleefully lived all over the country and around the world, and absolutely loves baseball.
