WOC Reading + 7th Anniversary Celebration

March 22 @ 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM PDT
After four years online, First Fifteen returns to the room!
Join us for a special in-person gathering as we celebrate our 7th anniversary and spotlight bold new work from women of color writers.
For seven seasons, First Fifteen has championed early pages and emerging voices. This reading honors that mission: centering stories by WOC writers and the artists who bring them to life.
The afternoon will feature:
✨ Live staged readings of the first 15 pages from Lainnie Contreras Felán and Katherine Street (3-5p)
✨ Kemiyondo Coutinho (Survival of the Thickest) and Rochée Jeffrey (grown-ish) for live feedback and conversation
✨ Talented actors bringing the pages to life
✨ A 7th anniversary celebration and time to connect in community (5:30-7p at a nearby location)
RED HELLAS written by Lainnie Contreras Felán (sci-fi mystery drama short film)
A morally stunted young woman faces off with her estranged sister, a corrupt politician, and a billion dollar corporation, while she obsessively works to solve an interstellar mystery that holds the key to her mother’s fate.
KIM(BER) written by Katherine Street (dark comedy screenplay)
A struggling wannabe influencer’s identity crisis spirals out of control when her curated social media profile becomes a living, breathing person, and begins taking over every aspect of her life.
Whether you’ve been with us since Season 1 or are joining us for the first time, this is more than a reading; it’s a homecoming.
